Add yourself as an author
Add your byline to a Substack post so WriteStack can find your publication during signup.
WriteStack finds your publication through the posts you're credited on. If none of your posts list you as an author, onboarding shows "It seems like none of your posts include you as an author." Add your byline to at least one post, then try again.
Steps
- Log in to Substack and open your publication's Dashboard.
- Click Posts.
- Next to your latest post, click the ⋯ menu and choose Edit.
- In the editor, click Add byline and choose yourself.
- Click Update (top right), then Update now.
- Go back to WriteStack onboarding and paste your profile URL again. See Connect your Substack.
Substack's editor changes from time to time. If a button looks different, look for the byline or author field at the top of the post.
Good to know
- Published posts and drafts both work.
- You can remove the byline after signup the same way: open the post, click the x next to your name, and update.
