# The Coach (/docs/using/concepts/the-coach)

The Coach is Quill, a writing coach inside WriteStack. It's a chat that already knows your publication, so you can ask it to draft Notes in your voice, fill your queue, or explain your numbers.

Open it from **Coach** in the sidebar.

## What it knows [#what-it-knows]

- Your Notes, posts, posting schedule and stats.
- Your [writing style](/docs/using/concepts/writing-style).
- The Writing Edge knowledge base.
- Its own Memory of you, and anything you add to its Library (links, pasted text, PDFs).

Memory and Library stay private to your account.

## What it does without asking, and what it doesn't [#what-it-does-without-asking-and-what-it-doesnt]

| Action | Needs your approval? |
| --- | --- |
| Draft Notes as cards you can edit | No |
| Schedule Notes | Yes |
| Post a Note or an article on its own | It never does |

When you approve scheduling in the Coach on your computer, the extension schedules the Notes on Substack right away. See [Sync](/docs/using/concepts/sync).

## Usage [#usage]

Every paid plan includes the Coach, with a weekly usage allowance that resets every Monday. The amount per plan is on [Coach limits](/docs/using/coach/limits).
